When I first started working in Belfast, it was a real novelty to be able to pop into the shops at lunchtime. My office is only a couple of minutes away from Victoria Square (and Flannels) – and it was here where I locked eyes with the Celine Nano Luggage. There she was, sitting pretty… and adorned with a ‘SALE’ tag.
Aside from my car, it is the biggest purchase I have ever made. Don’t get me wrong – I am not in the habit of spending so much, so it was definitely a big deal. But I wanted something special to commemorate finally getting a job, something classic that will enhance my wardrobe and that I would have for years to come. So I took a couple of weeks to really think it through before biting the bullet. Eek!
I’ve had the bag for a year now and although I treat it like Dresden China, it still looks like new. The quality is incredible, with butter-soft leather and every stitch perfect. The Nano size is ideal and in my opinion, compliments the bag’s shape more so than the other sizes in the Celine Luggage family. I really love the colour (a beautiful raspberry-meets-burgundy shade) and it seems to have been discontinued, which makes it that bit more special. It’s like owning a piece of Phoebe Philo’s legacy at Celine, my favourite French fashion house.
I must admit, it feels a little ostentatious to share such a costly purchase on here, but after considering it for a while, isn’t this why I started my blog in the first place? Not to brag about excess or indulgence, but to share what I’m loving, doing and purchasing. And all these years later, while there may be the odd logo, the premise remains the same.
