Van Der Valk Hotel, Amsterdam Amstel
Following on from my previous post, I thought I’d show you where we stayed during our last trip to Amsterdam (and where I hope to stay again sometime, in the – fingers crossed ? – not too distant future!).
We stayed in the Van Der Valk Amsterdam Amstel in July 2019, less than a year after the hotel first opened its (seriously stylish) doors. With 206 rooms across 17 floors, it’s a large – yet simultaneously intimate – hotel.
Our room, a Superior room on the 16th floor, was absolutely incredible. Boasting fantastic views through two floor-to-ceiling windows, the room was bright and airy. The pink and grey colour scheme with gold accents throughout created a beautiful, relaxed ambiance. The bathroom had both a jacuzzi bath tub and a separate rain shower- perfect for relaxing and washing the day away! Then there was the sumptuously cosy, king-size bed with crisp white sheets… topped with some welcoming Lady Godiva chocolates, which didn’t last for long once I’d taken my pictures!
Next time, we’ll be sure to check out their spa and swimming pool which looks amazing. I regretted not packing my swimsuit!
While the hotel isn’t in the very heart of Amsterdam, it’s just a short walk to the nearest train stop, bringing you into the central station in only 10 minutes. For a hotel this wonderful, it’s no trouble at all! I can’t wait to check-in again! x

This place looks unbelievably gorgeous!! I think what you said–about it being intimate despite its size–comes across so well from your photos. xx
