A Day Trip to Regensburg ?
In October 2019, when I was off university for a reading week, I took the opportunity to travel back to Munich to spend time with Jamie.
Regensburg had been on our to-visit list for some time. So on the Saturday, catching the train from the central station, we took off for a day trip. I remember how sunny and bright it was in Munich when we left, but as the train drew closer to Regensburg, a dense fog had materialised. We were initially a bit disappointed, but soon changed our minds when we arrived and began exploring on foot. It was so atmospheric, especially down by the river Danube. The rich autumn colours coupled with the soft grey light was almost like a painting, or a still from an old movie.
I wish I’d taken more photographs. When I go somewhere, I’m torn between wanting to capture it all from behind the camera lens, and just enjoying the present moment without using my phone or camera at all. It seems I either take far too many photos or not enough! This time was one of the latter, but it was a day I remember very fondly all the same.

These photos are so dreamy and transportive!! A few places in Germany are on my list, and I def need to add Regensburg to it now. Also, I’m definitely the same–I want to be so present and mindful, especially in a new place, but I also want to remember those moments! x
