With Charlotte Tilbury
Although I’ve always been a big advocate for the Autumn, I must admit I’m feeling a little sad about the sun setting on Summer, especially in Munich, where the weather is positively Mediterranean. With enjoying these summers, I’ve become more comfortable in my own skin – from wearing less makeup, to my outfit choices.
I usually favour a fuller coverage in my makeup, but thanks to some recent discoveries a la Tilbury, I’ve been embracing a less-is-more approach to my base. And although the season is changing, I’m determined to keep this summer glow going.
Following meeting Charlotte Tilbury, I’ve been lucky to further collaborate with my favourite beauty brand. Some of these products have been gifted to me by Charlotte Tilbury and some I have bought myself; either way, all opinions are my own.
So, without further ado, let me introduce you to my favourite products for keeping that summer glow going…
Wonderglow*. I had only ever tried samples of Wonderglow, so I was delighted to receive a full sized bottle – I absolutely love this product. Described as ‘8 Hours Sleep in a Bottle’, and ‘Gisele in a Jar’ (two things I will always covet!), Wonderglow is the ticket to an effortless, dewy complexion. It’s primarily a skincare product, but I love using it as a primer for my foundation – it helps my make-up sit better and last longer. Its soft focus properties really perfect the skin tone, creating a dreamy, lit-from-within glow.
Unisex Healthy Glow*. Being so pale, I’ve always tended to shy away from tinted moisturisers – I loved the idea of them, but had never found one that worked with my complexion. Enter Healthy Glow. A small blob worked into the skin creates a healthy, sun-kissed base. If I’m having a good skin day, I’ll wear just this, with a little dab of Retoucher, a sweep of Cheek to Chic (in Ecstacy), a coat of mascara and a slick of lipstick to finish. Voila!
Flawless Hollywood Filter. I’ve previously raved about the Hollywood Flawless Filter here, but it’s become a firm favourite in my summer skin routine. I use sparingly, as so little is needed for maximum effect. I mostly use it with my Magic Foundation, either mixing these together, or dotting a little across my cheekbones and my Cupid’s bow after I’ve applied my base.
Light Wonder Foundation. As I say, I’ve always been more of a full-coverage gal, but a combination of new-found confidence in my skin, and really wanting to try the other lighter coverage Charlotte Tilbury foundation, led me to the makeup counter. I opted for 2 Fair, which is slightly darker than what I would normally use, but with having a bit of a tan on my body, I wanted a colour that would match me up. (Anybody else tan easily on their bodies, but not their faces?!) I love the dewy, soft finish of this foundation – perfect for hazy summer days in the sun.
Filmstar Bronze and Glow. From the chic packaging inspired by 1920s cigarette cases, to the buttery soft powders it holds within, this is a beautiful palette inside and out. I use this little duo all year round to sculpt and bronze, taking advice from Charlotte to suck in the cheeks and “follow the hollow”. It makes contouring a breeze, even for a novice like myself. A light dusting of the highlight shade along my cheekbones, down the nose and Cupid’s bow finishes off any look.
