With the advent of Summer, I've been fully embracing making the most of the season, from my sartorial choices to my makeup. I thought I'd share some of my most recent additions for the season (although perhaps a little late as most of these pieces have now sold out; bad blogger)...
I've fallen head over heels for the linen-style dresses that are adorning the rails in the high street. Mango have so many beautiful ones; I swooned over lots before deciding on this one. I love everything about it; the light material, the delicate striped pattern and the flattering crossover style make it a perfect piece for any occasion in summer. I also picked up these shoes in Mango - I often struggle to find summer shoes I like, but this pair had me at hello.
I've had to exercise some self-restraint with basket/straw bags. They're everywhere at the moment, with beautiful offerings coming in from Mango, Zara and Topshop to name but a few. I'm glad I resisted initially, as I was able to snap up this basket bag from Topshop in the sale last week for a snip of its original price. Good things come to those who wait...! I have too many lots of bandanas and little scarves that I'll be using to accessorise this bag, adding a little bit of interest, and tailoring it to lots of different looks.
It's been hard to miss the hype surrounding the Hollywood Flawless Filter. I happened to be in London on the day it was launched so I popped into the Covent Garden store to try it out. I left with a sample, as I like to be sure something works for me before committing to a full-size bottle. Initially I was unsure where it would 'sit' in my collection, but I think it's a worthwhile addition to my makeup bag for its versatility. It can be used as a primer, blended with foundation to add a dewy glow, or as a highlighter. And I know it will last me a very long time, as I use so little each time. I've been mixing a small amount with my Magic foundation (read my review here) to give my skin a subtle glow. I've also found it's been extending the longevity of my foundation; another plus.
Have you updated your wardrobe/makeup bag for summer? What have you been enjoying recently? x

That dress is stunning, I am loving the trend of linen dresses at the moment although I’ve yet to buy any due to lack of funds. Basket bags are really cute too, just the other day I saw a woman with one on the tube that was shaped like a little dog and it was the cutest thing ever! I’ve recently purchased the naked heat palette for summer with a voucher and so far I am loving it. Beautiful photos!
