Old school blogging…
As well as being a bit of a throwback in terms of when these photos were taken, this post is also a bit of a throwback to old school blogging. As much as I still love reading blogs and seeing gorgeous imagery, I quite miss how things were back in 2009; less polished photos with diary-style entries. Just showing your outfit because you love it; not because you’re trying to generate sales through affiliate links, or only showing current season clothes and accessories.
I originally took these photos for Instagram, and didn’t think they were shiny enough for a blog post; many outfit posts for blogs now are almost like editorial photoshoots, and it can feel that unless your posts are equally glossy, they’re not worth sharing. So I’m going a little against the grain and sharing them here like it’s the early days again. And no affiliate links, either… truly old school! Perhaps my next post should be a ‘What’s in my Bag?’ ?

I love this, Sarah! I sure miss old school blogging days. It was so nice to be able to interact with real people who just loved to share their style. There’s something that feels superficial about it now but if I can stick to the old ways as much as possible, I will. I definitely understand people like to make a living off of blogging now but I wish there were ways to do this without having to push consumerism/new products at every chance. Anyway, I look forward to your future outfit posts! :)
