Apart from earlier this week, I can’t believe it’s been so long since I last posted on here. The main thief of my time has been university; I returned in September after securing a place on a Masters course in Software Development at Queen’s University Belfast. It’s an intensive, one year conversion course, the equivalent of a three-year undergraduate course. So when they said ‘intensive’, they weren’t fooling around! It’s been tough going – some of it enjoyable, some of it not so much if I’m honest…! I’m at the beginning of my dissertation now which is a bit lot overwhelming, but it’s the last hurdle. I might do a more in-depth post about the course and my honest experience as a mature student, if this would be helpful or of interest to anyone.
The hardest thing though has been being apart from Jamie. I had to move back home for the course, while Jamie stayed in Munich. I was able to fly over for a week and a half during Semester One, and we had Christmas and New Year together. Then I had plans to fly over for a few weeks at Easter, but, well… I won’t use the dreaded ‘C’ word here! This is the longest we have ever been apart. It’s miserable not knowing when we’ll see each other again, I know there are many people on the same boat.
But I’m so happy to be logged back into my blog again, and I have a feeling it’s going to provide some much-needed respite from the dissertation.
