Getting to know my MacBook Pro and catching up with blogging. I have been an Apple advocate for quite some time now, and after much umm-ing and ahh-ing about when or if I should get one, I decided the other week to just go for it! With my hard-earned cash and student card, I took the plunge and she (yes, she… I’ve personified a computer!) now has pride of place in my room. It took months to decide on getting one – big purchases make me a little nervous, but I’ve been very happy with this one – no regrets here. It’s also inspiring me to blog more as it’s such a pleasure to use.
Irresistible scents and giving. Jo Malone’s ‘Lime, Basil and Mandarin’ is a fragrance that I have long admired, and since introducing it to my mum, she had been admiring too. I very recently bought a bottle for her as a little gift just for being so wonderful! I love treating my loved ones when I can – perhaps even more so than myself – it does my heart good. This is Jo Malone’s signature scent and definitely a modern classic – striking the balance of being deliciously sweet yet sophisticated – and lasts all day long.
Getting back into reading. As much as I love reading blogs and other things online, it’s nice to just switch off and get into a book (with a cup of tea at hand, of course; though not quite as milky as the filter is making mine look in this photo!). Books are actually one of my favourite things to buy, but I tend to buy even though I have a backlog of others yet to read. At the moment, I’m reading I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith.
Pampering my hands. I am rather fond of obsessed with hand creams! I’m constantly slathering my hands with lotions and potions – my favourites at the moment are by L’Occitane and Soap & Glory (so guilty of having several products ‘on-the-go’ at the same time – one in work, one in handbag, one at home…!). I’m also loving Lush’s Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter – it’s so rich with a great citrusy scent, too.
What’s been making you smile recently? x
